GLOBAL STRUGGLE The Game Revised Sept 22, 2005 Global Struggle is a strategy multi-player play by email (PbeM), political-economic-military simulation game, heavy on diplomacy. Turns are processed weekly and represent the passage of one year in game time, starting in 1800. Multiple games run at same time. Are you capable of running a nation, one that has a budget, military, research facilities, laws, and free thinking citizens? Are you sure you can do it? Want to bet on that? The rules include provisions for technological changes, economic policy, military operations and logistics, Intelligence, exploration and colonization, research projects, elections, and many other features. The Global Struggle is a serious, referee moderated simulation in which each player represents the leadership of a particular nationality in the world. Every attempt has been made to make it as realistic as possible while remaining playable. However, some things have not followed historic examples, because of previous player moves, in other words you create the history of your people once you take command. The Story The Treaty of Paris
established the USA, and was welcomed by colonies and provinces around the Globe.
Resistance movements rose up and seized these colonies and provinces, declaring their
independence and forming New Nations. An international system of smuggling and arms
traders supplied them with weapons. Success against the Great States such as England,
Spain and France lead to many abuses of power and all forms of government from
Totalitarianism to Multi Party Democracy. Can you, the new ruler of
your nation, take your proper place amongst the Major Nations of the World? Can
YOU lead your small nation into becoming the largest most powerful on earth or even the
stars? Find out in THE GLOBAL STRUGGLE! The GLOBAL STRUGGLE is an economic/military
simulation game with real life problems of running a country such as Laws, Economics,
Military, Politics, Social, Scientific Research, Intelligence Networks, and much, much
more. You are the leader of your nation, at
least in name, and it is your job to see that your country is successful. How it succeeds,
and whether or not it survives or whether it will become another conquest, is you prove
that you can run a Nation. NOTE: You must have a Spreadsheet Program to play the game, we prefer Excel, but Open Office, MSWorks, or a free Excel Read/Write program that we will make available.
